Properties study of poly-L-lactic acid)/poly(gamma-benzyl L-glutamate)-graft-poly(ethylene glycol) blend film
A series of poly(l-lactic acid) (PLLA)/poly(gamma-benzyl l-glutamate)-graft-poly(ethylene glycol) (PBLG-graft-PEG) blend films were prepared by casting the polymer blend solution in chloroform. Surface morphologies of the PLLA/PBLG-graft-PEG blend films were investigated by scanning electron microscopy. Thermal, mechanical, and chemical properties of PLLA/PBLG-graft-PEG blend films were studied by differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis, tensile tests, and surface contact angle tests. It was indicated that, when PBLG-graft-PEG mole content is 5 %, the tensile strength and the surface contact angle of the polymer blend film are 21.2 MPa and 63.2A degrees, respectively, suggesting that the polymer blend film has both good mechanical and good chemical properties.
