Surface Properties of Films of Linear-Dendritic Fluorinated Block Copolymers Based on N-isopropylacrylamide

Thesurface Gibbs energy of films of poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) modified with pentafluoro-phenylgermanium groups and its linear-dendritic block copolymers is determined. It is found that the block copolymers with a hydrophilic block fraction of about 5 wt %, and MW from 11 500 to 23 700 possess good film-forming properties and, regardless of the method of film deposition (the immersion method or the Langmuir-Blodgett technology) and the substrate nature, have the Gibbs surface energy from 42.8 to 66.7 mJ/m(2) which is apparently related to the specific orientation of macromolecules in the films.
