Biomorphic hollow fibers Al2O3 was prepared by impregnation-calcination method using cotton as a template. The as-prepared biomorphic Al2O3 was modified by vinyl triethoxysilane (A151) and biomorphic Al2O3 became hydrophobic. The high-oil-absorption resin composite were synthesized by suspension polymerization with butyl methacrylate (BMA), butyl acrylate (BA), and styrene (St) as the monomers. The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope, and thermogravimetric-differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA). The composite resin showed a tetrachloromethane absorption capacity of 44.57 g/g and an excellent thermostability. After 10 cycles of regeneration, the composites still showed high absorption capacity for organics without significant quality loss. POLYM. COMPOS., 39:1988-1993, 2018.
