    About the event
For over 30 years, Particular Sciences have showcased their specialist technologies and applications at seminars, workshops, conferences and scientific meetings. In the new reality, Particular Sciences now bring you all our technologies and the companies we represent in a two-day virtual showcase called Phys Props 2021.
This new Virtual event gives you the chance to explore all that we do, decide what you want to learn more about, with opportunities to discuss with experts from twenty leading scientific instrument companies. There will be headline talks each session and shorter presentations on specialist topics, with breaks and discussions just like in "physical" Seminars and Workshops.

Join us for this workshop, where you will here presentation on "QSense QCM-D analysis in virus research – instrument portfolio and three user case examples"
QSense QCM-D® (Quartz Crystal Microbalance with Dissipation monitoring) is a real-time, surface-sensitive technology that has been used to explore and characterize various aspects of biological systems and biomolecular interactions for more than two decades. The technology is utilized in both basic and applied research, and over the years, QSense analysis has shed light on several different aspects of virus behavior and virus interaction with its surrounding. Here we present the technology and three recent studies from different areas, i) analysis of competition for membrane receptors, ii) development of broad-spectrum antiviral drugs, and iii) analysis of virus affinity to different surfaces.
During this session, we will be joined by Josh Jackman, one of the authors of the antiviral drug development study, who will be available to answer your questions.
