Research and routine QC on one platform

With the software, you can perform complex force tensiometry methods, while the standalone mode of the instrument offers fast surface and interfacial tension measurements for everyday QC, all with consistent hardware and data handling.
Touch display with stand-alone functionality
When connected to a PC, Sigma Peak is operated through the OneAttension software, with the touch display offering basic controls for sample stage movement and balance taring. When used as a standalone instrument, measurements of surface and interfacial tension as well as density can be performed directly through the touch display.
Dual operation probe holder
Sigma Peak has a probe holder offering two ways to attach the measurement probe or sample. The first is to hang the probe on a hook, which gives the best alignment thanks to gravity. The second is to fix the probe in place, which can be advantageous when measuring more viscous samples.
Built-in bubble level and ambient temperature monitoring
Sigma Peak has a built-in bubble level indicator close to the balance to ensure levelness where it matters the most. Ambient temperature sensor monitors the environment constantly for better result traceability.
Optional functionalities
Advanced sample stage
Include advanced sample stage to add stirrer, or possibility to connect temperature or pH sensors. Add temperature vessel to control sample temperatures between -20 to +200C.
High resolution balance
Choose the high resolution balance when very small forces need to be measured such as in fiber wettability.
Ionizer
Add built-in ionizer to reduce the static charge of the sample. Especially meaningful when measuring very small forces such as in fiber wettability.

Determine surfactant effectiveness and efficiency
Surfactants lower surface tension by disrupting interfacial chemical bonds. Their effectiveness is measured by how much they reduce surface tension, while efficiency — evaluated through critical micelle concentration — determines the minimum amount needed, which matters for both cost and environmental impact.

Data handling

Intuitive UI with several measurement options
Standalone mode has intuitive user interface allowing measurements of surface and interfacial tension with Du Noüy ring, surface tension with Wilhelmy plate, density as well as transformer oil quality following ASTM D971 and IEC 62961 standards.
Default setting and guided measurement
Each measurement type has default settings that can be used in most use cases. If needed, modification of the most important parameters can be done. User interface will guide the operator through the measurement steps.
Results displayed on screen and .pdf
Immediately after the measurement is completed, the results are shown on the instrument screen. Each measurement will automatically create .pdf file, up to 100 of them can be stored in the instrument memory. Connect the instrument to computer or phone via USB-C and store the reports to external drive, quality system or share with the colleagues.

Platinum Du Nouy ring
Pt-Ir-ring made to fulfill the requirements at least in following standards; ISO 301, ISO 4311, ISO 6889, ASTM D1331 and ASTM D 971. Includes also additional weight for push-mode.

Platinum Wilhelmy plate with micro roughened surface.

Powder wettability measuring device, steel
Sample vessel to hold the sample powder. Perforated bottom to support filter paper and to allow liquid penetration into bulk powder, porous solids or fiber bundles. Adjustable packing piston for reproducible packing. Used in measurement of sorption behaviour. Includes one package of filter paper (T112B).

Thermostatic vessel (from -20 to +200°C)
For temperature control of the sample liquid. A heat exchange vessel with fluid jacket type of construction. Heating/cooling of the fluid jacket requires external bath/circulator, not included in T705A. Fits glass sample vessel 70 mm in diameter (T104).

Dispenser, Schott Titronic 20ml
A computer controlled and software operated dispenser for automatic measurements of CMC. Two S101 dispenser are highly recommended for a fully automatic dilution measurement but the measurement can also be performed using only one dispenser by concentrating sample liquid. USB interface to PC.
