Standalone excellence
Attension Sigma Solo combines dependable automation, established measurement techniques and true stand-alone operation to deliver accurate surface tension, interfacial tension and liquid density data, measurement after measurement. Whether you are running quality control, qualifying incoming materials or performing routine testing. Sigma Solo is your reliable force tensiometer for everyday analysis.
Why Sigma Solo?
Standalone operation with full automation
The instrument is fully automated, and measurements can be performed easily with a single tap. The embedded software guides you through the measurements of surface and interfacial tension and liquid density. Results are presented on the screen immediately after the measurement is completed.
Easy result transfer
Sigma Solo utilizes modern USB-C technology which enables easy data output when measurement results need to be saved. Connect the instrument to a PC or a mobile phone to transfer the automatically produced PDF reports to your own data storage system. Up to 100 measurements can be stored in instrument memory.
Advanced options
Sigma Solo can be equipped with protective doors to reduce the effect of air flow on the measurement results. An advanced sample stage enables a stirrer and the connection of temperature and pH probes for sample monitoring. An ionizer can be added to eliminate issues caused by static charge.
Standalone operation
Sigma Solo is operated through intuitive touch display. The results are shown in a table format immediately after the measurement is completed. The data can be transferred to PC or even through phone as a .pdf file.
Several probe options
Sigma Solo can be used with platinum Du Noüy ring, platinum, and paper Wilhelmy plates, and platinum rod. Using the paper plate removes the need for cleaning as the plates are disposable. Using the platinum rod, allows surface tension measurements of small volumes, down to few ml.
Built-in bubble level and ambient temperature monitoring
Sigma Solo has a built-in bubble level indicator close to the balance to ensure levelness where it matters the most. Ambient temperature sensor monitors the environment constantly for better result traceability.
Optional functionalities
Advanced sample stage
Include advanced sample stage to add stirrer, or possibility to connect temperature or pH sensors. Add temperature vessel to control sample temperatures between -20 to +200C.
Ionizer
Add built-in ionizer to reduce the static charge of the sample. Especially meaningful when measuring very small forces such as in fiber wettability.
Chamber doors
Add doors to the instrument to protect the measurement chamber from airflow.

Standalone operation
Sigma Solo is built for routine surface and interfacial tension measurements, no computer required. Its standalone operation delivers quick, reliable results for everyday quality control and production work. One instrument, ready when you are.
Integrated Software
-
Operation via touch display
Sigma Solo has embedded software allowing full instrument operation via touch display. -
Surface and interfacial tension made easy
Surface and interfacial tension as well as liquid density measurements can be performed with ease. -
No training needed
Intuitive user interface with guidance provides a platform that can be used by anyone with minimum training needed.
Intuitive UI for surface and interfacial tension
Standalone mode has intuitive user interface allowing measurements of surface and interfacial tension with Du Noüy ring, surface tension with Wilhelmy plate, and density.
Default settings and guided measurements
Each measurement type has default settings that can be used in most use cases. If needed, modification of the most important parameters can be done. User interface will guide the operator through the measurement steps.
Results displayed on screen and .pdf
Immediately after the measurement is completed, the results are shown on the instrument screen. Each measurement will automatically create .pdf file, up to 100 of them can be stored in the instrument memory. Connect the instrument to computer or phone via USB-C and store the reports to external drive, quality system or share with the colleagues.
Add more possibilities
Check out accessories and modules available for Sigma 702. We selected a few favorites for you, but you can always find the whole list below.

Platinum Du Nouy ring
Pt-Ir-ring made to fulfill the requirements at least in following standards; ISO 301, ISO 4311, ISO 6889, ASTM D1331 and ASTM D 971. Includes also additional weight for push-mode.

Platinum Wilhelmy plate
Platinum Wilhelmy plate with micro roughened surface.

Thermostatic vessel (from -20 to +200°C)
Chamber made from Teflon and Aluminum for temperature control of the sample liquid. A heat exchange vessel with fluid jacket type of construction. Heating/cooling of the fluid jacket requires external bath/circulator (T102ME or T102USB). Fits glass sample vessel 70 mm in diameter (T104). Operable temperature range from -20 to +200°C .

t705a
For printing results directly from instrument into paper.
